When I add a twibbon, suddenly my avatar's size is huge, and only a portion of it becomes visible.
Hi it is not good news at the moment, the problem for us is because it happens so rarely we cannot replicate it to fix. This does not help you we understand and be assured we are always looking at this.
What would be useful is to know what operating system and browser you are using if you experience this problem. Please email support@twibbon.com with any information you have.
Thanks for your patience and understanding,
Elaine

when I say a clean avatar, I mean an unadorned 73x73 image << for others with this problem
The status of this is now "under review". in your mails you say you are actively working on it. Which is true?

I don't get that. It's exceptionally reliable for me. Whenever I revert to my original picture, which was too large, I get this problem.
My work round is to upload the clean avatar and then apply a new twibbon. I cannot use the 'revert to original' function.
You should create functionality that allows those of us who have this problem to overwrite what you think is our first avatar in your database. I have said this before. If you want a private correspondence, please find me and I am happy to talk.
This isn't hard, and its poor that you havn't fixed it.

I have this problem as well.
In order to support a new cause, I use the "Revert to" first image which has no twibbon. This is/was a very large image and so when I add a twibbon to it I get a huge image which the twibbon is wrongly placed. I believe from previous testing that the large image i.e. the base icon is not resized when written to the new twibbon. If you examine my history, you'll one black icon with a twibbon.
My work round is to use the twitter interface to upload a new avatar 73x73 and then add a new twibbon.
I recommend that you recapture the base image either on instruction or at a specific time in the cycle. The problem is that you captured the full ssize image which twitter handles well and twibbon doesn't.
If you can't fix this for everyone, can you fix it for me?

Renee, I know just what you mean - the first time I added a twibbon, it seemed to resize my photo for me or something... I reverted back to my original photo and then tried to add another twibbon (many times, on multiple days) and it no longer re-sizes my photo to fit the box. Annoying - especially because it did so the first time... just not since. So whatever they changed, they should undo!

Im so upset that my avatar is the size of king kong and there is no solution. it's not even picking up my current avatar so i can revert to that when this messes up!

Hi - sorry but your suggestion didn't work for me. I've tried many different approaches but it always tries to crop my twitter avatar and shrink the twibbon to an unrecognisable size. Please can you let me know what I should be doing / when it's sorted - driving me mad :(

I have the same problem with my avatar's size when I'm about to add a twibbon. I tried to add one recently and I only got the portion where my twibbon was placed in my avatar as opposed to it being placed within the frame of the actual avatar. I don't want this to happen again! It's ridiculous!
